Olympus (Olympus 2207)

Lovelock (Nevada)

Lovelock - Tribe

The first quest is to clear the fields of plants. Head west and kill anything that attacks. A shepherd stands nearby, offering an unknown... NYOKH. The price depends on your barter skill ($150 with a barter skill of 50 and $10 with a skill of 300). You can exchange it for a regular leather jacket, but you'll have to talk him into it. The NYOKH turns out to be a toaster and can be used to craft a unique power fist. He also has a broken laser pistol - it can be repaired at the workbench. You can also talk him into giving you a free spear.

There's a drawbridge next to the shepherd. You'll need a rope to fix it. There are some planks lying next to the house; lifting them requires strength of 6 or more. If you don't have enough strength, you can ask the shepherd for help. They'll complete the repairs (repair cost 40). There's nothing particularly important in the house, but it's a nice bonus for starting the game. The raiders have rope in their basement.

To fix the tank, you'll need scrap metal and a welding machine (available in Wind of War and at the Nuclear Power Plant). You can also talk to a technician in Reno – he'll fix it for you (there's a chance he won't return). Or ask the guy in Jerlak if you saved him.

The healer will give you a quest to find a backpack with herbs – it's in the possession of the raider Foresight, who will wager it in the game (with 10% luck and a 100% chance, you won't always win). Or you can kill him. Or not...

There's a warrior standing under the awning; his friend, Quiet River, has disappeared. He can be found at Luciano's Ranch in Reno. Buy or arrange an escape (requires the Sabotage or Erudition skill and clothing. A leather jacket from the ranch itself or any other kind will do; the Worn Leather Jacket stolen from the raiders' drying rack is ideal). Return to the hunter after saving him and receive a 5% boost to your Metal and Cold Armor.

After saving Quiet River, you can talk her into going hunting with him. This will reward you with a spear and the Gecko Skinning skill (it's easier than Evan's quests).

Healing Maccons requires a lot of equipment, so before you talk to him, gather everything you need. You'll need clean water, a scalpel (or a combat knife, or a knife), a first aid kit or doctor's bag, pliers, and two stimulators. You'll also need to pass the shaman's test.

Answers: small intestine, no vital organs were damaged, digests food, several weeks, flush with moonshine, lowers perception, and break.

Then there will be stat checks: agility, perception, and endurance. You must be healthy, not irradiated, not poisoned, and not addicted to drugs.

Successful treatment will increase your doctor skill by 5%. Keep in mind that there are several treatment outcomes, and they depend on the available tools, the doctor's skill, and the success of the doctor's skill check (not just their level).

You can also persuade a healer that scientific methods are no worse than their homeopathy, which will increase your doctor's skill. Doctor or First Aid 40. First Aid +5%.

At some point, the chieftain will become uncommunicative about raiders if you're completing Big Louie's quests (specifically, when you hand over the suitcase for the courier quest). You can only get him to talk again by killing all the raiders (not with poison).

With a high reputation and 7 strength, you can fight the hunter who accompanied you through the village. He can also increase your Naturalist skill.

With a high reputation, you can also gain access to Lovelock's radio station.

The shaman or the chieftain may offer to take out the raider base. There are two ways to destroy them:

- kill 'em all;

- poison the water tank. To do this, you need to inspect it and prepare three vials of farrier's poison. Only Big Louie will survive unless you sent him to Vegas. (There's a small but useful glitch with poison. See "Nevada Tricks" for a link at the very beginning.)

You can talk to the tribe's shaman at night near the graves. The rest of the time, he'll send you away. If you're a raider, the conversation won't go well.

Lovelock - Raiders:

If you have +250 karma (less is needed), the Raiders' quests will mostly be closed to you, as Louis won't give you the chance to join their gang. Approach him, and after a short conversation, you'll go straight to the ring. A little tip: go to Louis as soon as you unlock the Lovelock location (you won't have time to reach karma above +250 by then, or take a perk that reverses karma) and join his gang (you don't have to complete the quests afterwards). No matter how you play, Louis won't kick you out and won't object (even if your karma is +1000).

To negotiate properly with the raiders, it's best to send whoever "catches" you into the forest. They'll chase you, but there won't be a fight. And there's a better chance of not ending up in the ring if you need their quests.

You can play with the Forsaker for more than just the healer's items, but it's hard to win (300% gameplay and 10 luck always result in a win). The difficulty increases with each victory (you gain experience for each victory). You can also buy him for a hundred or get him through sex (female, 5 charisma). If you get the items through sex, the Forsaker, for some reason, will lie under his desk forever; you might not notice right away :-)

While Fat Jackson is wandering around the toilet, you can drain the booze from the moonshine still.

You can make Mold drink moonshine. Then he'll demand various drugs, after which he dies. First, alcohol, then healing powder, anti-smoking agent, and psycho. Before the psycho, you can take his gun (and completing drug deliveries for him will deduct karma).

There's a fence in the upper right corner of the location. If you have high strength, you can partially disassemble it and gain access to the hiding place Zhiryuga mentioned (you can blow up the fence with a timed explosive or break it with a crowbar). On the left, you can steal a leather jacket drying on a rope. However, it's of inferior quality.

There are a few useful items in the basement, including a crowbar for opening the crate (if you save near the crate, when you load and open it, you'll see that the items inside are randomly generated... you can get the ones you need this way. This works for any crate).

On the second floor, in a desk (not the one Louis is guarding), is the Mickey's Revenge schematic. There are also dice there for those who like to mock the casino.

If you poison the raiders, Louis will walk around the first floor and kick them. However, if you talk to him, he may give you his quest, after which he will attack or you will be taken to a ring where there will be a bunch of living raiders (there will be no conversation if you've spoken with him before).

Big Louie's Quests:

If you decide to talk to Louie peacefully, you should pay him your money first, otherwise he will take it. He also takes lighters and some other items.

Louis's first quest is to rob the Hawthorne base. There's nothing particularly difficult about it. The second quest is to extort tribute from Stryker—you need Light Weapons, Unarmed, or a Speech Skill of 60, otherwise you'll be sent packing.

The third quest is to deal with Maxson in Reno. The gatekeeper can give you a tip for $50 or through threats. Then you need to interrogate the caravan drivers—with a Perception of 5, you'll recognize one of them as Maxson. The next choice is to kill him or help him escape. But he'll only trust you if you have an Intelligence of 5 or a Speech Skill of 25. You'll also need a shotgun. Maxson has a unique weapon, the "Maxson's Sawed-Off Shotgun," which is very good, especially for starting out. It has the same stats as the "Sawed-Off Shotgun" (an upgrade to the "Shotgun"), but Maxson's holds 5 (five) rounds in a clip instead of 2 (two).

The fourth quest is to kill the courier. This one's very simple. But you can give the briefcase not to Louis, but to Bertolini (see New Reno), which will upset Louis, and the quest itself will be suspended.

The fifth quest is to kill the dealer Solomon. There are several options: either pay the dealer (any dealer) and arrange a meeting for 1000, or with 9 Strength, or 90 Unarmed Combat. Or you can ask the ringmaster about the fairness of the fights, then talk to the Racer, who will give you a quest to find the glasses (they're with the bartender Burlesque). After receiving the glasses, he will tell you how to contact Solomon. Doctor 50 and Speech 80 will allow you to learn about Solomon without the quest; you need to talk to the guy in the green shirt in the slums (the room with two children). Solomon himself is in the room adjacent to Cotton's bar – the entrance is through the slums. With an Intelligence of 10, you can find him this way.

If you question him, with a Speech skill of 65, he'll tell you that Stryker planted the junk on him. A Speech skill of 70 or a Doctor skill of 45 will allow you to persuade him to amputate his finger relatively peacefully (but if you use the Conversation skill instead of the Doctor skill, the chemist will raise his prices). The reward for the final quest is money, experience, and a rank. The Raider rank will anger the caravanners in Reno, and you won't be able to ship Nuka-Cola through caravans.

After the final quest, Louie can be hired at the Hard Rock Cafe. If you send him there, his place on the second floor will be taken by Flayer, who will offer to eliminate his boss (you can poison him). He'll give you $5,000 for the kill ($6,000 if you trade at 50), and you'll lose your rank (but you'll remain a raider, with all the consequences). You can talk to Louie, and he'll make a counteroffer and give you $1,000 for poison. You can then poison Flayer or kill all the raiders (which will give the best ending for the Cheyenne).

Killing Big Louie negatively impacts the game's ending, except for the case described above.

Lovelock Radio Station:

The hardest part is gaining access to it. The raiders don't know about it (except for Forgemaster, but he wants $300), and the tribe needs to be convinced or intimidated (if you're a raider). Alternatively, you can turn on the radio at the tribe's location, and the radio station will be found automatically. First, you need to find out if it's available in Hawthorne.

It's simple—you only need scrap metal to repair the generator. Then, don't forget to pick up the keycard from the desk, which will open all the doors.

To break into the administrative offices, you need 75 Erudition (or a password from a computer that can be repaired with 75 Repair), while the other doors require a Mastercard Keycard (a high hacking skill or an electronic lockpick will allow you to break into the doors anyway). The briefcase from the safe must be taken to Sergeant Graves at the Main Intelligence Directorate for experience.

To use the computer, you need to repair the second generator in the ant room. However, you won't be able to contact the bikers from there.
