Olympus (Olympus 2207)

Wind of War (Nevada)

Before completing missions at the military base, make a separate save, otherwise you might lose access early.

There's a comrade in the tent on the left who's very angry with the technician. If you're not too law-abiding, he'll come in handy later (for infiltrating, you'll get +2% stealth and -5 karma). Once you have the controller, you need to approach him and remind him about the sabotage. Speech 50 or reputation with the caravanners will grant access to stealing a car. Repair or hack 25 will allow you to start the car.

The caravan leader will tell you about the "rotor friend." This will give you the opportunity to buy or steal a car. You need 35,000 to buy. Trade 50 will give you a discount (from 3,000 to 6,000 with Attractiveness 7), and Charisma 6 and being female will allow you to work as a prostitute to earn money. For purchasing, you'll receive a 5% trade bonus, +10 karma, and 5,000 exp. For stealing, you'll receive -100 karma and 3,500 exp. You'll be ordered either way. The note from the killers' bodies can be given to Wesker.

Right at the entrance, a caravan driver has a useful item. You can try to win it or buy it for $50. The stone is needed by the merchant at the base, but you can hold on to it and use it elsewhere. The second stone is in a white box in the barracks. To reach it, you'll need stealth and combat mode (or a Stealth Boy). The stones need to be inserted into the statues, which will open a passage inside the building.

In the room to the right, a shady guy wants to steal codes from the military base. With $50 trade, you can double the price. Accessing the quest requires level 10. After receiving the task, you can turn it in to the general or complete it.

Further to the right, there's a man injured by military tyranny. With a doctor or first aid 50, you can treat him; otherwise, you can force the local doctor to do it. He'll also give you a quest to retrieve a unique pistol (+20% chance to hit) and money from Jimmy. Jimmy is located inside the base, right at the entrance, but the general can help with this. (It has increased accuracy, compared to a standard pistol, by +20%. Note: it's +20% more accurate than any pistol in the game (except Gauss pistols). For example, a standard pistol has a 50% chance to hit, but under the same conditions it would be 70%. It's very good at aiming.) When you retrieve the pistol from Jimmy, don't give it to the caravan driver; give him the money instead (it's just a little less XP and karma). The caravan driver won't treat you any worse; he'll still offer you nuts whenever you meet him (see Las Vegas).

The merchant gives you access to additional grenades by trading 40. He also asks for 30 bottles of beer (you can then turn it in to the general, but he might not find it). He'll also give you access to a safehouse for $300, where you can find an armor part and a spare part for the warehouse assignment quest (you'll need rope there). Fighting there is optional; the main thing is to avoid the cute lizards, but if you kill everyone, you might encounter a Super 8 in the area, but the chance is extremely low (at 500 karma, you don't have to fight him). The merchant will only give you quests if you haven't already completed General Wesker's missions. Otherwise, he'll say you can turn him in to the general and won't continue the conversation. So, don't rush to the general right away :-)

The doctor sells heart pills; it's worth buying them right away, although they'll only be useful in SLS. If the Doctor's skill is low, you can convince the medic to train you, but you'll need the glib tongue.

If you have a Speech/Bargaining skill of 40, you can get gunpowder from the Technician (you can beg for it by talking, or buy it by trading). It greatly improves the grenade launcher (it becomes 1 turn cheaper to fire, and the minimum strength requirement for using it decreases from 6 to 5).

You can enter the military base if you've been to Hawthorne, or are level 13, or have completed a quest from there, or by bribing him for $100 (if you do this, there won't even be a search. You need a high Speech skill, 90 is enough). But before the search, you need to put away any alcohol and drugs (for example, in your safe), as well as money.

Robert lives immediately to the left of the entrance at the base. It's a classic Romeo and Juliet story, the ending of which is up to you. Juliet lives even further to the left. They'll need a rope to escape. The key he gives will open the stove outside the base. It can't be opened without a key.

Level 7 will grant access to Wesker's missions. He'll buy Hawthorne ammo, a uniform, and a reward pistol from you. If you don't sell the pistol immediately, this branch will disappear later. You can also complain to him about your subordinates (particularly Jimmy, and later during the Vegas quest). The mission itself will be completed when you give him the holodisk about deserters (see Hawthorne). You can also show this disk (or even the Pip-Boy entry) to the technician.

Next to the general is a room with scientists. One of them has a key to a computer. The computer contains data on the vault; if you click it, you'll be automatically transported there (this is the easiest and free way to get there), Area 51, and power armor (only the first part of the blueprints). (You can access the computer without a key; you need 50% erudition (to learn about power armor, you need 80% erudition). There's a quest to clear the Claws out of the shelter, but it doesn't seem to work.

Then he'll give you a quest to deal with the rednecks. Best not to chase them away—it'll be fun.

Sometimes guards will be waiting for you at the exit from Warzone. You can kill them (without aggroing the entire population) or go to the prison. There, you can simply skip time and exit, or help the guy in the leather jacket along the way. To do this, talk to him and wait until the guard turns away when you exit. Your belongings will be returned, but they will take all your money (if you complained about them to Wesker, he will apologize and gain +500 exp). The guy will give you leads on quests in Warzone and Bertolini.

If you turn everyone in to the general, Warzone will most likely have a bad ending.
