Stalker: Call of Pripyat → Anomalies
Frying - "If you see a shimmering light in front of you, like over asphalt on a hot summer day, that's 'frying.' When something gets inside it, a tongue of exceptionally hot flame begins to shoot out at that point. At first, it was thought to be due to jets of natural gas, but this theory seems to have been abandoned recently."
Soda - "Some kind of active chemical processes are constantly occurring in this anomaly. Hell's kitchen, in short. The result is acid that corrodes the exterior and toxic gases that corrode the lungs just as effectively. At least it's easy to spot "soda" in the open... it's worse when you fly into it, in the middle of a dark tunnel."
Electra - "A very interesting anomaly! It works by accumulating a hefty charge of static electricity, but a metal object causes the Electra to discharge. Many take advantage of this: throw a bolt and run past it before it builds up a new charge... But personally, I prefer to avoid this anomaly—the charge builds up too quickly for my liking."
Gravity Anomalies - "You can spot them by the visible distortions of objects behind them. If you spot one, it's best to avoid them from a distance. All three known varieties trigger instantly upon contact... The "Springboard" ejects everything from itself, sometimes over considerable distances. The "Funnel," on the other hand, sucks in and compresses with terrifying force, only to scatter them again a few seconds later. And the "Carousel" lifts its victim off the ground, spins them around, and tears them to shreds... An extremely unpleasant fate."
Moving anomalies - "I've personally only observed the 'Comet' and the 'Tesla.' The first is a fireball about a meter in diameter. But you can feel its heat from a greater distance. The second is very reminiscent of ball lightning: it's truly a ball, and its nature is definitely electrical... Both actively move, but, as a rule, along closed trajectories. An attentive stalker can easily avoid them. The main thing is not to get distracted, not to scatter your attention."
