Clan of the Wheel: Quests in Arcanum

Arcanum Walkthrough -> Wheel Clan

The Wheel Clan is one of the most legendary and powerful dwarven clans. On your way to the clan, you'll encounter Arronax, the evil god of Arcanum. In reality, this is not Arronax, but Kergan, whom you'll have to fight in the final battle:

Enter the stone square, put on your glasses, and the entrance to the Wheel Clan will open:

The Wheel Clan itself has many inhabitants. To see them, turn left from the entrance and go down the stairs.


Find Durin's Stone

Dwarven historian Eric Obsidin will ask you to find Durin's Stone, which is lost in the Iron Clan. He will give you a key diagram that will open an ancient safe in the Tarant Zoological Society building.

However, if you're an expert or master locksmith, you'll be able to open the safe in 30-50 attempts. The safe contains three ancient drums and a map that opens the location - the Place of Lost Voices.

We head to the Place of Lost Voices, use the drums on the ancient machine, and it begins to play a message indicating we need the book "Durin's Truth." This book is in Mrs. Misk's house in Caladon.

To enter the Iron Clan mines, we need a special key, which is on display in the First Cathedral of Panaria. To obtain it, we'll have to unravel the fate of the great Manox. But that's later.


Find a lost item

An old miner, Vegard Molten Flow, lives near the historian and asks you to find an old item he lost in Drej. We wander through Drej, looking for an ancient toy train, and then bring it to the miner.

Make a sacrifice at the Altar (editor's note)

In the Wheel Clan mine, there's one of the Arcanum altars, used for sacrifices to the gods. If you still have at least one Lava Rock from the Blackrock Clan caves , the altar will grant +1 strength to your character in exchange:

Find the missing brother

A dwarf named Trojan Ironheart asks you to find his brother, who lives in the Stonecutters clan. Ironheart's brother, while developing a new deposit, stumbled upon a necromancer's laboratory. He decided to read the books found there, but ended up summoning a bunch of undead. Kill all the monsters.


Main gameplay

Go straight north and in the final room you will see the dwarf king's son, Londhee Tirnstone. Tell him about Trovald. The dwarf king's son will tell you that he is temporarily acting as his father.

The king himself is in a network of underground tunnels - Jerj. Kill all the undead and talk to the king. The king will give you two tasks: find the elven village of Kintarra and find out where the Blackrock Clan disappeared to.

Editor's note: You can try to persuade the king's son, and he'll show you a secret passage to his father, right under the throne, as seen in the screenshot above. And you won't have to run around Jerj :)

If you have a high level of intelligence, it's entirely possible to persuade the dwarf king to return to the throne. To do this, you must first learn from Tirnstone the reason for the king's exile.


Clear the mine of monsters

To the right of the entrance, there are working mines, but the miner's foreman will tell you that merciless monsters are killing his workers. Simply kill all the bastards and report to the boss.

By the way, if you're a technologist, I recommend visiting the inventor—he has a lot of interesting things. Now, let's head to the city of Stillwater.
