Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura is an undeservedly forgotten RPG, released way back in 2001. This game was supposed to be a Fallout killer thanks to its complex system of perks, schemes, skills, and intricate plot.
But, in my opinion, it was precisely because of the extreme complexity of the game's structure that the world of Arcanum never became widely known, at least on the RuNet. Otherwise, it's a pretty good game.
What I liked most about Arcanum was the theme the developers tried to convey to players: the confrontation between the two forces of Magic, which has ruled the island for centuries, and Technology, which is about to displace the world of Magic from Arcanum.
By the way, you might be wondering, "Why are you describing quests from other games on a TimeZero website ?" First of all, who said this website is only about quest specifications? Secondly, we have already described everything that could be sensibly described about the game. And thirdly, a person will not live by the post-nuclear alone, expect the elves to visit!
Arcanum Walkthrough
For convenience, and so as not to bother myself too much, I will group the quests depending on the city in which they are located.
Quest line by city:
1. Crash Site - the starting location of the entire game with a wrecked airship.
2. Misty Hills (part 2) - a small mining town.
3. Dernholm - the ruined capital of Cumbria.
4. Black Root. part 1 - belonged to Dernholm before the war.
5. Tarant (part 2) (part 3) - the heart of all Arcanum.
6. Black Mountain Clan - the former home of the Clan of the same name.
7. Ashbury - a small town, is a part of the Tarant Union.
8. The Isle of Despair - a prison for the most terrible killers.
9. The Wheel Clan - the most powerful dwarf clan in Arcanum.
10. Stillwater - the leader in sword making on the island.
11. Kintarra - the abode of white, lop-eared elves :)
12. Tarant. part 4 - we go in search of Renford.
13. Caladon - a rapidly developing state of Arcanum.
14. Roseboro - is known for the fact that the Ring of Brodgar is located in it.
15. Tsen-Ang - the abode of the dark elves/people of the Hand of Moloch.
16. Kintarra and Caladon - in search of the mudnya Nassredin.
17. Iron Clan - we're crafting the coolest armor and weapons in the game.
18. Black Root. Part 2 - in search of a ship for the journey.
19. Thanatos Island - feel like Mowgli!
20. Tulla - the one and only city of magicians in the entire game.
21. Vendigroth - the ruined city of great technologists.
22. The Void - a place of no return (seriously).
