For some unknown reason, an incredibly rich cache of weapons has been preserved in a special room. By robbing the kids in power armor, you can snag all the coolest stuff: a plasma rifle, a Gauss rifle, a Steyr 15.2 (damage like the Gauss rifle, range 75), and so on.

Babysit Leon's girlfriend Linda in Carson City for 500 XP.
Talk to Linda, the house to the right of the bar. You can just talk, or you can tell her boyfriend that he's jealous and sent you to follow her. Return and hand over the mission to the mercenary at the base. If you tell him you slept with her, he'll attack you.
Find the criminal Krueger. ?xp, +35 karma
Krueger is known to lurk in villages and small towns. Go to the Primitive Tribe location and talk to one of the locals. He'll tell you a story about Krueger. I think you should find him in a random location, but I found him in the Broken Hills residential area (he can also be found in the Gecko Nuclear Power Plant scrapyard) – 350hp and an XM70. Kill him and take his gold tooth as proof. Return to Reactor 7 and report to the head hunter.
Complete the Brotherhood of Steel alliance . 1500xp, +25 karma
The quest is available after killing Krueger. The leader of the mercenaries asks you to negotiate an alliance with the BoS. Go to the BoS Elder (BoS Bunker, Level 4). Ask him about the alliance, give him two days to consider it, and he'll agree. Return to Reactor 7 and report to the leader of the hunters.
