Fallout 2 Walkthrough → Locations and Random Encounters
Unlucky Dog. You'll find Unlucky Dog in a pile of corpses. Run away from this place quickly, otherwise if it attaches itself to you, you'll become Cursed and your luck will drop to two—everything will fall apart. The dog is tenacious. Killing it is difficult and time-consuming, but at least it doesn't attack.
Exploding gates. Gates that explode when they see you... A severe case of indigestion. The worst part is that they tend to get closer before exploding. Dangerous stuff.
Bridge of Death. You must answer the keeper's three questions. Answer correctly and you'll pass; if you don't, he'll kill you. Attacking him will spawn exploding gates. If you answer the third question with a question, the keeper will burst, leaving only his robe. If you answer the third question correctly, the keeper will simply leave, and you'll receive 5,000 experience.
A toxic waste dump. You find yourself in a field drenched in acid and littered with barrels. A dozen golden geckos are grazing in the field. You immediately receive a large dose of radiation. It doesn't do much good. :-).
"Broken Dream Cafe." It looks like a small piece of the Hub from the first Fallout, but then you realize something's missing, and something's unnecessary. Inside, you'll find a few old acquaintances from the first game and a dog. Approach him in blue, and the dog might join you.
The Gate of Eternity. A very useful place. Entering the portal will take you to Vault 13, also from the first Fallout. There's a pile of junk in the armory and an exclusive gun on the floor. To leave, break the water chip in the computer. This can be done simply by using the computer.
A stone head. It will start to tell you that you're not the Chosen One. After a long conversation, it will give you a stone that, when eaten, temporarily increases certain stats. You can steal three more stones from the head.
King Arthur's knights. They might be members of the Brotherhood, only slightly deranged. They say they're looking for the Holy Grenade. It doesn't matter what you tell them. You won't find the Holy Grenade here.
A crashed shuttle from Star Trek. The corpses contain hypos that restore 90 health. You can keep them, as they're exclusive.
The Tin Woodman. A real Tin Woodman stands in the desert. This is none other than another joke from a very famous book. He asks you to grease him (the oil can is lying nearby). Help him, and he'll give you 200 batteries (and leave you the oil can, which, unfortunately, is of no use).
A joke based on Douglas Adams's novel "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." A sperm whale and a pot of petunias fall from the sky. Another meaningless chance encounter. Take some flowers just as a memento of this place. Showdown.
A bunch of unwashed bastards are beating up an old homeless man. A joke dedicated to the most famous and respected clan of Fallout fans. If you help them, you'll receive positive karma. After the murder, search the shelves in the ruins of the house. You can find several useful items there.
