Farm , Farm outside the Den.
Help the Jennings defend themselves from Metzger's thugs. Get some cash and a gun.
Truck , accident scene.
Nothing useful, a couple of things, and a key on the corpse, which can definitely be used somewhere.
The ruined city
A location northwest of Redding where a deathclaw "trainer" killed a black man's son (with a horse tattoo on his shoulder).
Dump
If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's located east of Broken Hills. The area is empty, with a few random items. There's a mailbox (highlighted with Shift) where you can pick up a letter and read the story (interesting). Also, in the armored personnel carrier (with BoS textures), you can get General Grant's armor and pistol. The pistol is slightly better than the Desert Eagle, and you can use it as a melee weapon :-) The armor is somewhere between combat armor and level 2 combat armor. However, it weighs 160 and doesn't provide any strength bonuses. Nearby, in a rusty car, there's a cassette tape and a tape recorder. The tape recorder is repairable, but requires a spare part.
Bunker 21
Eldridge, the owner of New Reno Arms, will show you this location if you bring him any Gauss-powered weapon (pistol or rifle). You can't find it on your own.
The surrounding area is littered with "deposits" of inferior weapons left behind by the attackers. All of this is hidden in the grass, "of no significance to the plot's development." :-)
When talking to the base commander, you need to "pretend" to be one of them, otherwise you'll die quickly. The crates and guards contain many expensive items (heavy weapons, mostly), as well as thousands of .223 rounds.
Of the useful items, there's really only one crate on level 3: an invisibility ring, an alien pistol (!), some sunglasses (+1 Charisma), and a psycho-neutralizer—a "muzzle" of unknown purpose (a reference to F1 and the Master?). There are also a lot of books (5 Science, Repair, First Aid, Scout). There are also several Motion Detectors, Geiger Counters, etc.
A scientist at level 3 will provide specific information about this object.
Presumably: a scientific laboratory like "Angara-18": skeletons of "aliens", Blaster, equipment... It would be nice to look here, "authorized" in the BS.
It feels like there are no quests here, or maybe they're unfinished.
Some people just want to take everyone out and sometimes wait out the evenings here crafting. Or gather some companions so they don't have to search the wasteland for them (why they need to take everyone out is unclear...).
Do not rest in this location; when resting, a bug occurs as if the quest to protect crops in Aroyo (bring poison from the Klamath rat caves to the Elder) was not completed.
Destroyed laboratory
It's located east of the refuge town. You'll need a bunch of dynamite (7 pieces) and rope. Use dynamite to clear the rocks. Head roughly toward the center of the door. Just in case, take more dynamite. Then follow the corridor to the shaft, tie the rope, and climb down. There will be a couple of lockers downstairs with some loot, and in the western room, a Gameboy and a magazine are good for playing (reusable). I haven't tried what happens if you win. Don't go down to the hole in the floor; you'll die from poisoning. Three corpses have only illegible Chinese ID cards in their inventory.
Glow
Directly down from the NCR, you'll encounter a glow, the original location from the first fallout. Bring a rope and plenty of RadAway, chug some RadAway, tie the rope to a rod, and climb down. There will be a lot of psychopathic ghouls, but I didn't notice anything useful. Take four ropes. On the first floor, there's a Jedi sword that doesn't work very well. On the fourth floor, there are some trinkets, a laundry ball, and a couple of other things. Nothing else to do there. There's also a Mob - Moloch. Kills in one shot (50 HP). Nothing else to do here.
