Or a heavy factional tank of the new conglomerates. Its distinctive feature is a power shield module that reduces incoming damage for a period of time. It's arguably the best heavy tank in the game. It's a two-seater.
The driver, in addition to driving, also controls the main turret weapon. The second gunner typically maintains the driver's damage output on a given target. This means the Vanguard's primary weapon fires in the same direction as the secondary weapon, and also occasionally scans the tank's surroundings.
Tank loadout:
1. Standard. Designed for the Vanguard's intended use, namely, engaging enemy armored vehicles. An anti-tank gun is installed as the primary weapon, and a rocket launcher as a secondary weapon. A cheating force field module is a must-have on the Vanguard. This also prevents frequent auto repairs. As for movement, maneuverability or speed—what do you prefer?
2. Universal. The loadout is designed to engage enemy vehicles both on the ground and in the air. The loadout is similar to the previous one, with the difference that instead of a force field, a fire suppression system is installed, and the secondary weapon is a Walker with x2 magnification. This allows you to engage enemy aircraft and infantry at medium range, as well as slightly damage armored vehicles.
3 Anti-Infantry. In terms of equipment, the modules are comparable to the previous type. In terms of weapons, a turret with high explosive damage and a cobalt/faction anti-infantry weapon are installed.
Having several pre-made loadouts will save you and your comrades from senseless deaths.
Combat tactics:
It's very simple: you need to leave the tank intact, kill enemy tanks, cover allied Sandras, and assist them in their offensive/defensive actions with your firepower. Destroy turrets at bases and outposts, destroy player-owned structures, and prevent the enemy from emerging from the spawn.
One more shot from the Vanguard can destroy a fighter if you can hit it with the main gun. But this doesn't happen very often. Sometimes they say that the best weapon against aircraft is a heavy tank, not a Skyguar anti-aircraft gun, because of the ability to one-shot an enemy.
Each race has its own tank. The Conglomerates have the Vanguard, the Terrans have the Pravler, and the Vanu have the Magrider. All have unique features. For example, the Vanguard can be equipped with an immobilizer shield that reduces incoming frontal damage for a period of time.
These tanks are two-man tanks: a driver and the main gun, and a gunner on the turret. Heavy tanks don't spawn from all bases, only from large ones.

1) Tanks:
You can kill a Lightning with two or three shots, using its primary weapon. It has low fragmentation damage. Using the gunner's gun or rocket launcher does the job even faster. Experienced tank drivers usually ask the gunner to always look and shoot where the turret is facing. Don't fire randomly at everything you see; it's very annoying for the driver, forcing them to rotate the turret, and more often than not, you'll get kicked out of the tank.
2) Vehicles:
A great fit if swarms of Harrassers are circling your tank. The secondary gunner, thanks to his rate of fire, can keep enemies away from you.
3) Air:
A versatile fit if you don't have many tank certificates or you're playing solo. A simple Walker machine gun is mounted on top, which deals more or less decent damage to fighters and infantry. You'll be switching between the driver's seat and the gunner's gun.
4) Infantry:
Same thing, but the turret is equipped with a Titan Hit, which deals splinter damage. It does less damage to armored vehicles, but it's a lot of fun for enemy infantry.
