Anomalies

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl  → Anomalies

Description of anomalies

The Funnel  is an anomaly presumably of gravitational origin. When activated, it violently draws in everything within a 10-15 meter radius. If caught in the center of the "funnel," there is no chance of survival: the body of both animals and humans will be compressed into a tight ball and then torn apart during the so-called discharge. During its entire existence—on average, about a week—the anomaly remains in its location; it can be visually detected during the day by the characteristic air movement above it, swirling foliage, fragments of dismembered corpses, and a distinctive dark spot on the ground in the center. It is extremely dangerous at night, as it can only be detected by detectors or by throwing metal objects.

It produces artifacts: Twist, Gravity, and Goldfish.

Frying  - When inactive, it appears as a barely visible cloud of hot air, but when any object or living creature enters its range, it forms a compact zone heated to approximately 1500K. At night, it can only be detected by powerful detectors or by throwing metal objects.

It produces the following artifacts: Droplets, Fireball, and Crystal.

Aspic  - A formation of unclear origin. It appears as a glowing, bright green jelly, easily visible in the dark. Upon contact with the body, it causes damage similar to that of a strong acid.

It produces the artifacts Slime, Slug, and Mica.

Electra  is an anomalous formation approximately 10 meters in diameter that accumulates static electricity. When disturbed, the anomaly explodes with dozens of mini-lightning bolts, and the resulting shock is almost always fatal to any living creature. A characteristic feature of the "Electra" is a bluish fog visible above it during the day. At night, it is easily detected with any type of detector or by throwing metal objects.

It produces the artifacts Sparkler, Flash, and Moonlight.

Stinging Fluff  - Anomalous vegetation. When approached, it emits a cloud of particles that, upon contact with the human body, cause damage similar to the stinging cells of poisonous jellyfish. Generates the "Kolobok" artifact around itself. All artifacts of this anomaly, when worn on the belt, affect a person's resistance to radiation due to the fluff's strong absorbent properties.

Generates the following artifacts: Kolobok

Trampoline  - This anomaly was one of the first to be discovered, back in 2008. It inflicts impact damage with a gravitational field, similar to the shock wave from an explosion. It "lives" in one place for an average of a week. During its lifetime, the strength of its impact changes. The impact ranges from bruises and contusions to instant death with the launch of the body into orbit. It is detected by distortions in the air above it, swirling foliage, and characteristic reddish-brown spots on the ground, indicating the "starts" of losers and dumb newbies. Its impact on a person can be slightly reduced by wearing the artifacts "Twist," "Gravi," and "Goldfish." It is easily detected by any type of detector and by throwing various metal objects at it.

It forms the artifacts: Medusa, Stone Flower, and Night Star.

Carousel  - This creature's cheerful name stems from the effect of lifting any living creature into the air, spinning it around and spectacularly ripping off various body parts. It's extremely dangerous. The nature of this vortex-like anomaly is not fully understood. It can be detected by a light dust vortex and scattered animal and human body parts around it. It's crucial to not miss the moment when you're drawn into the anomalous vortex and avoid the zone of maximum effect at the center. Its impact on a person can be slightly reduced by wearing the artifacts "Medusa," "Stone Flower," and "Night Star" on your belt. It typically generates three types of artifacts around itself: "Blood of Stone," "Slice of Meat," and "Soul." All artifacts of this supernatural "meat grinder-killer" mystically affect a person's vitality.

It generates the artifacts: Blood of Stone, Slice of Meat, and Soul.

A radioactive hotspot  is an area with elevated radiation levels, typically above 50 mR/h. These are often marked on maps. The only advice is to avoid prolonged exposure.
