Chapter 8. On a Rail [Black Mesa]
The minecart will descend to the lower floor. Continue forward. Before the ramp, there's a small platform on the right. You can grab a couple of pistol clips from a dead guard and a suit battery from the water below.
Continue up the hill. At the top, you can grab a couple of barrels and place them on your minecart as bullet protection. Further on, two Vortigaunts will appear to the left of the road, and further to the right, two crocodile monsters. Deal with them and continue forward.
The water is electrified. Ride the minecart to a cliff filled with electrified water. Here, you need to lower the sliding bridge. Continue on foot to the right. Turn off the lever under the yellow "Caution" sign. The power is off, and you can enter the water.
Underwater, you'll find a first aid kit and a plug. Pick up the plug and carry it to the lower left platform, where you plug it into an available outlet.
We go upstairs and press the lever under the yellow poster again. In the far right corner, we climb the stairs, at the top, we descend through the nearby hatch, and jump into the control room. In the room there is ammo, a stationary first aid kit, a stationary charger, and a green button on the panel that needs to be pressed to lower the bridge. We board the cart and continue across the bridge.
There's an ambush at the elevator. We stop in front of the circular elevator. We climb to the second floor on foot and destroy the machine gun turret behind the bars. We go up to the fourth floor, grab a couple of machine guns and a first aid kit. We climb to the fifth and final floor and, without leaving the stairs, destroy the machine gun turrets (it's better to use grenades for this). We go down, grab the grenades, and take the cart up the elevator to the top floor.
8.2. Rocket Silo
There's a red laser on the way. Stop right in front of it and shoot the machine gun turret far ahead, to the right of the road, with the magnum. We reach another minecart.
Two soldiers will run out from the right; kill them. Collect all the weapons on the crates. Further down the corridor on the right, there will be four more soldiers fighting Vortigaunts. We need to take advantage of the situation and quickly kill the soldiers. In the first room on the left, a guard is hiding. You can pick up some pistol and magnum ammo next to him, and the guard himself can help with his shotgun.
A little later, a corridor on the left will open, and three more soldiers will attack from there. Three Vortigaunts will appear inside the room where the soldiers were. After defeating them, climb to the second floor either by the ladder or the sloping wall around the tunnel. There's a battery and an underbarrel grenade above the tunnel. At the top, press the rotary lever – the door on the first floor will open. We go through the open door
and enter the ballistic missile silo. We descend the stairs to the very bottom, from there we begin to ascend the same stairs, but behind us we close all the doors to the central room by pressing the small green buttons. Three doors in total must be closed, after which we press the large green button on the panel at the very top. This causes the ballistic missile to ride out on a platform to the surface. We then descend one floor, board the minecart, and head out.
8.3. Launch Center
Ride the minecart up several floors. Ahead, on the right, there will be an ambush of four soldiers. Resurface. Kill several soldiers, run forward under the yellow pipe, and position ourselves behind the machine gun. Use it to shoot all the remaining soldiers.
When all the enemies are gone, proceed to the newly opened basement, opposite the machine gun. Follow the narrow corridor and stairs to the control room. Kill two more soldiers here. Press the red button, and the ballistic missile will launch and launch a satellite into orbit, which the Lambda scientists want to use.
Exit the room through the door, go through the open gate outside, and enter the tunnel on the left. You'll see a broken minecart in the water, electrified. Go down one floor down the stairs in the corner, and grab two explosives and a battery from the minecart in the center. Board the yellow electric train and head to the next chapter .
