Chapter 9. Apprehension [Black Mesa]
9.1. Divided Pool
We're riding the train and three soldiers will attack. The first bullet hit will render the train uncontrollable, so quickly jump out. Kill the soldiers.
We descend the ladder and swim through an underwater corridor. Ahead of us is a fallen yellow mine cart, and next to it is a broken bridge that needs to be raised higher. To do this, we descend into the water, look for orange air capsules, and place them in the grate under the bridge, where there are already several capsules. You need to find four of these orange things. Jump across the raised bridge to the other side, tucking your legs in mid-air (press "ctrl").
We continue along the corridor and again find ourselves in the room with water, but this time in its other half. We dive deeper, along the corridor where the truck is submerged, and swim forward into the next room. Further underwater, we find a crevice with bubbles and swim into it.
A shark pool. Before our very eyes, a sea monster (Ichthyosaur) will eat the professor alive. Here, we need to climb the grate hanging over the water and grab a new weapon. Jump over the destroyed section of the road on the left, climb to the second floor, cross the beams to the hanging grate, and jump into it. Grab the crossbow with a scope, swing the grate, and fall into the water. Kill the sea monster with 2-4 crossbow shots, and swim to the surface. Underwater, we'll find a door blocked by a valve. Take a deep breath and go down to turn the valve. Swim further and enter door #6.
9.2. Pistons
We go down, ahead of us there is another room, flooded with water. Below there are two sea monsters, but it is not necessary to kill them. We jump into the water, climb onto the pipe protruding from the water, and along it onto the platform. From the platform, we run forward and jump into the gap in the grate, where the bars are bent. We go forward to the next room.
(In the room with the pistons, ahead on the upper floor there is a G-man).
We go up, deal with the crocodile monsters, and climb even higher. At the top, we press the button on the panel, which causes the pistons ahead to start working. You need to calculate the time correctly and jump along the moving pistons to the other side of the room.
We go forward, kill the Vortigaunts, and take the elevator up.
9.3. Military Hangar
We go forward, kill the Vortigaunts, and take the elevator up. A guard will meet us at the top; he'll want to tell us something, but before he can, he'll be killed. We enter a large, open room. Several fast and silent assassins are hiding here.
We climb to the central platform, jump to the side roof, climb up to the control room on the second floor, and pull the lever. We descend, go through one of the tunnels on the left, enter the room in the middle, and head to the stationary first aid kit and charger... Soldiers will attack from behind and stun us.
9.4. Waste Disposal
We wake up in a confined space, the walls gradually narrowing. All our weapons have been taken from us and left here to die. We need to get out of here quickly. We climb up the boxes and jump to the ladder. (If you brought a hat with you, we'll find it upstairs.) We climb higher, take the crowbar in the control room, and press the button on the panel. The floor below in the central room will open; we descend there.
We emerge into the ravine. We walk forward along the sand, climb up, and descend into the water tower. At the bottom, we turn two valves and continue along the open pipe. Chapter Ten .
