The mod continues the plot of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, beginning with Alyx crying over the body of her deceased father. Afterward, Alyx becomes gravely ill and is unable to leave her bed. Magnusson needs Gordon to find the missing Dr. Kleiner, last seen talking about an attempt to blow up the Borealis. Gordon must fly to the North Pole, find Dr. Kleiner, and save the ship, which is carrying a mysterious cargo.
