Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl → Artifacts (Part 2)
Description of artifacts
Film - This artifact is so rare that many researchers don't even suspect such a substance can exist in nature. It rejects corrosive chemical components. It is believed that this artifact appears near the "Elevator" anomaly.
Kolobok - When you hold this Zone riddle in your hands, you feel the skin roughen and become less sensitive. It's still easy to pierce with a bullet, but much more difficult to cut.
Medusa - Formed in the "Springboard" anomaly. It creates a weak protective field, which produces mild radiation as a side effect. The artifact is widespread and inexpensive.
Stone Flower - Born in the "Springboard" anomaly. This artifact can be found in a few areas of the Zone. Inclusions of metallic compounds create a beautiful play of light. Looking at this artifact by the light of a fire at night is wonderfully calming.
Night Star - This remarkable artifact is formed by the "Springboard" anomaly. Its use requires neutralizing deadly radioactive radiation. Expensive and rare, it is extremely interesting for scientific expeditions and other researchers of the Zone's activity.
Thorn - The result of the interaction between the "Rusty Hair" anomaly and the body of an inattentive stalker. This spiked artifact pricks the wearer's body, no matter how it's attached. But it also helps cleanse the body of radionuclides. It's quite common and inexpensive.
Crystal Thorn - Crystallizes in the "Rusty Hair" anomaly. It removes radiation from the body naturally, through the ears along with some blood. Blood loss through other orifices is also possible. Rarely encountered and quite effective, it has earned a stable price on the artifact market.
Sea Urchin - The "Rusty Hair" Anomaly very rarely produces this artifact. Blood pressure rises, and the body gets rid of a large number of red blood cells. However, accumulated radiation is released from the body along with them.
Stone Blood - This artifact can be found near the Carousel anomaly. It is a rather ugly reddish formation made of compressed and strangely curved polymerized plant remains, soil, and bones. It is quite common and has limited effectiveness.
A Slice of Meat - Produced by the Carousel Anomaly. Stimulates enhanced cell growth. However, young cells are more susceptible to many types of physical damage. This artifact is rare, but it's hardly unique.
Soul - Very rare to find near the Carousel anomaly. Only a few have ever found such an artifact, and few have ever seen one. It has a pleasing shape and an equally pleasing price.
Battery (true) - The origin of this object is shrouded in scientific mystery. It is clear that it contains dielectric elements, but the physical conditions under which it is formed are unknown to science.
Dummy (false) - When wearing this artifact, protein denaturation slows. In other words, flesh is more resistant to high temperatures and burns less easily. This item itself is expensive and rare. (The developers may have made a mistake when naming this artifact—it was most likely intended to be "Dummy").
Spring - According to some theoretical researchers, this artifact is a hybrid of the "Battery" and the "Pacifier".
